A Tribute to 哈罗德 Baquet: Picturing Blackness

罗耀拉大学 新奥尔良 and the Department of Design would like to invite you to A Tribute to 哈罗德 Baquet: Picturing Blackness. The Exhibition will be held in The Diboll Design Center, Monroe 图书馆 4th floor, 10月24日, 2024-April 2025 and will be a retrospective of photographer 哈罗德 Baquet and current 新奥尔良 Photographers. (The Gallery 是开放的 whenever the 图书馆 是开放的.) M-F 8am-5pm, Sa/Su 11am-5pm

哈罗德 Baquet was a photographer and artist who built a career documenting African American political and daily life in his native city of 新奥尔良. A descendant of seven generations of Creole residents, he grew up surrounded by the artistic, musical and crafts communities of 新奥尔良. 哈罗德 was also the photographer at 罗耀拉大学 for more than 25 years, and an integral part of our campus community.

We are celebrating 哈罗德’s quintessential investigation, 创造力, 协作, and mentorship by hosting an exhibition of his photos works side by side with photographers who embrace this same spirit in their own works to highlight what is happening now in 新奥尔良.
